Astrology & Body Consciousness

Astrology & Body Consciousness

Astrology consists of several systems of divination based on the premise that there is a relationship between astronomical phenomena and events in the human world. Many cultures have attached importance to astronomical events, and the Indians, Chinese and Mayans developed elaborate systems for predicting global events from godly observations. In the West, astrology most often consists of a system of horoscopes that claim to explain aspects of a person’s personality and predict future events in their life based on the positions of the sun, moon, and other celestial objects at the time of their birth. Astrology has been dated to at least the 2nd millennium, used to predict seasonal shifts and to interpret celestial cycles as signs of divine communications. A form of astrology was practised in the first dynasty of Mesopotamia (1950–1651 BCE).

Chinese astrology was elaborated in the Zhou dynasty (1046–256 BCE). Hellenistic Astrology after 332 BCE mixed Babylonian astrology with Egyptian. In Rome, astrology was associated with Chaldean wisdom. After the conquest of Alexandria in the 7th century, astrology was taken up by Islamic scholars. Texts were translated into Arabic and Persian. In the 12th century, Arabic texts were imported to Europe and translated to. Astrological references appear in literature in the works of poets such as William Shakespeare. Throughout most of its history, astrology was considered a scholarly tradition. It was accepted in political and academic contexts, and was connected with other studies, such as astronomy, alchemy, meteorology and medicine.

Carl Jung

Carl Jung stated “We are born at a given moment in a given place and like vintage years of wine we have qualities of the year and of the season in which we are born. Astrology does not lay claim to anything else. ….Astrology represents the summation of all psychological knowledge of antiquity (ancient times). The collective unconscious appears to consist of mythological motifs or primordial images, for which reason te myths of all nations are its real exponents. In fact, the whole of mythology could be taken as a sort of projection of the collective consciousness. We can see this most clearly if we look at the heavenly constellations, whose originally chaotic forms are organised through the projection of images. This explains the influence of the stars as asserted by astrologers. These influences are nothing but unconscious introspective perceptions of the creative unconscious. ….the journey through planetary houses boils down to becoming conscious of the good and bad qualities in our character. Alchemy is inconceivable with the influence of her elder sister astrology….”

Astrology of the Body

Every year we experience planetary retrogrades. But what is a retrograde? It is the sense of moving backwards and reverting to an earlier and inferior condition. So when we experience planetary retrogrades, it feels like we are going backwards and things can appear as though they are not working or manifesting the way you want. Remember it is an optical illusion. These retrogrades are linked with astrology and the planets which inturn affect your body consciousness. Your body is a hologram of all and the universe and certain body parts are linked with the planets. Ancient healers, Shaman’s and Wiccas knew this wisdom and would tune in to the energies of the planets and the body. This is now called Medical Intuition and taught in the Millennium Modality – Medical Intuitive Courses (MMMI)

The Sun

Lets begin the journey with the SUN. The sun represents the individual ego. It is the primary source of energy to the earth and brings about changes to the body mind. This is very important when relating to the depression as it the catalyst for realising potential. People with depression require the sun for their vitamin D and E but also for the self realisation to their own potential. That is part of depression …. Not realising your potential!! (Imagine having hospitals with sun activates and schools/families encouraging children to play outside!) This then aligns with knowing then future and destiny. You only have to look at people sun baking at the beach as they dream of their future and all possibilities or reading a book to encourage their imagination and right brain. The sun gives an energises creative force. The sun holds a masculine energy which helps to create that ‘push’ to action things.

Body parts linked to the sun:

1. Spirit – the core foundation of who you are
2. Heart – awareness, balance, insight
3. Spine – support, back yourself
4. Thymus Gland – self realisation, defencive patterns
5. Pineal Gland – insight, balance
6. Solar Plexus Chakra – learning lessons, emphasis on status
7. Brow Chakra – insight

So make sure you have some sun time every day for the healing affects and tap in to your potentiality knowing you design your destiny.

Astrology and the Body

Before we go any further I want t connect this to Medical Astrology and how the body is linked to so many factors when considering holistic health. Science has not yet caught up with the ancient wisdom that we are a hologram of everything and that when people are affected by ‘things’ it will be linked to so much. So what is Medical Astrology? Medical astrology, traditionally known as Iatromathematics is an ancient medical system that associates various parts of the body, diseases, and drugs as under the influence of the sun, moon and planets, along with the twelve astrological signs. Medical astrology can and was used for the awareness of what gifts and challenges may occur for people depending on when they were born and what star sign they are born under and relating it to their body. By having this understanding you can be conscious of what is happening then create a holistically healthy life in all areas. The body parts connected to the signs are as follows:

ARIES – head, face, brain, eyes
TAURUS – throat, neck, thyroid, vocal tract
GEMINI – arms, lungs, shoulders, hands, nervous system, brain
CANCER – chest, breasts, stomach, alimentary canal
LEO – heart, chest, spine, spinal column, upper back
VIRGO – digestive system, intestines, spleen, nervous system
LIBRA – kidneys, skin, lumber region, buttocks

Medical Astrology

Now lets continue the journey with the Moon and its amazing subconscious feminine aspect of the personality. Have you ever noticed the word ‘lunatic’? The meaning comes from the effects of the full moon and some are triggered by the feminine energy when they are not feeling quite themselves and this will bring feelings of insecurity and neediness. It may be projected as out bursts of anger and aggression. I noticed this when I was nursing especially in dementia and psychiatric wards. The moon represents habits and instincts. It stimulates the protective instincts, security, psychic ability and imagination. It has a huge energy towards maternal love.

Medical Intuitive body parts linked to the Moon:

1. Breasts – nourish and nurture
2. Womb – productivity, housing
3. Stomach – rejection, conscious mind
4. Pituitary gland – insight and intuition
5. Skin – self acceptance, breath in life
6. Hydration
7. Watery looking fat
8. Cellulite

The full moon is a brilliant time to energise your crystals overnight. Why not have a walk in the full moon knowing the healing effects are connected to nurturing an mothering which generally speaking we do not do for ourselves. These particular body parts for children or adults are vital for the internal nourishment of us all.

For April we I am sharing about Mercury linked to astrology and how the body is linked to so many factors when considering holistic health. Mercury represents our intellectual curiosity and thirst for knowledge. Mercury gives us te ability to categorise information based on our personality and way of processing. Mercury is very connected to the left brain knowledge that links meaning and explanation to events. However there is not much understanding with connection as it is much more logical and linear. This can lead to misinterpretations of life and self. This linked with mercury will create feelings of separation.

Body parts that are connected Mercury include:

1. Cervical spine – communication
2. Shoulder – armour to life, heart protection
3. Hand – receive, give, hold on to
4. Lungs – grief, reaction , response
5. Thyroid – devotion to self, activity

Mercury

Mercury can bring with it insecurity, neediness and active emotional memory. On the positive side Mercury can bring protection, maternal love, fertility, intuition and imagination. For May we will discover the beautiful energies and body consciousness of VENUS. Venus represents the feminine aspects of romance, sensuality, creativity and artistic ability. Venus encourages social contact, tenderness, affection, beauty, refinement and understanding. Venus seeks a life of comfort, ease, financial security.

Mars represents egocentric, high energy, masculine energy. It can be aggressive, rash and compulsive. This is the energy of the survival of the fittest. The dominant energy can bring self expression and searches for challenges trying to be the leader in physical and intellectual pursuits. Mars definitely lacks lateral thinking of the feminine so will be one sided. This can create conflict. Mars and Venus are polar opposites.

The body parts ruled by Mars include:

1. Adrenals – motivation, drive, catalyst
2. Head – expectations, sabotage

JUPITER represents the higher brain activity that seeks the meaning of life beyond the physical. Masculine by drawing the new ideas but feminine in seeing the bigger picture JUPITER can influence to unrealistic expectations of future abundance. This planet encourages strong interest in personal and spiritual growth, philosophy, and appropriate social behaviour. The negative aspect encourages gambling and the belief that failure is unlikely. Reward is sought with out doing anything.

The body parts ruled by Jupiter include:

JUPITER has the positive qualities of philosophy, religion, teaching, aspirations, optimism, growth & expansion. However the negative aspects can be unrealistic expectations of life, delusion, recklessness, gambling.

Saturn represents order and discipline in life which for right brain personal like me is duality but I really like it. Success is seen as the reward resulting from personal effort and responsibility. Saturn likes the ‘realities; of life and uses judgement, refined experience to get things done. This is called learned wisdom and builds confidence for growth and goal achievement. Saturn allows for priorities to allow for efficient and organised management. The down sound is this can create feelings of over burdened by responsibility and effort is experienced as laborious. The negative Saturn is pessimistic, admits defeat and is limited.

The body parts ruled by Saturn include:

1. Skeleton – framework and structure of your foundation
2. Spleen – over worrying and immunity
3. Gall Bladder – procrastination, decisions resentment
4. Coccyx – goals

Saturn

SATURN has the positive qualities of time and ageing, discipline, responsibility, organisation, wisdom and realistic expectation. However the negative aspects can be struggle, limitation, constipation, pessimism.
September planet is connected to every teenagers desires – the need to be free from the bonds of responsibility and ignorance.

Uranus is connected to every teenagers desires – the need to be free from the bonds of responsibility and ignorance. It is the impulse to be individual and have your own destiny. Consider Uranus as an alarm clock to wake you up to SELF and life and not accepting life in ignorance or as the mass consciousness does. This evident with many politicians, country leaders, TV and movie personalities making huge statements and showing their true colours. The new generation which I call MILLENNIUM CHILDREN™ relate to the Uranus way of thinking which is ‘originality in thought and attitudes’ and is the mark of the visionary. It shuns materialism and traditions (like the new generation) and promotes creative change which then can be seen as revolution against authority (Welcome to the AQUA CHILD personality)

The body parts ruled by Uranus include:

1. Coccyx – goals
2. Nervous System – communication system within ten body like a telephone

Uranus

URANUS has the positive qualities of originality, visionary, awakener, change, creativity. However the negative aspects can be rebelliousness, anarchy, eccentricity.

Neptune is connected to spiritual growth and atonement. It endeavours to create order out of chaos by servicing. The need to serve and rectify the planet and self stems from a deep awareness of guilt that lies in our core being. Neptune and tries to fix society, religion and other aspects of manifestation. It is about selfless work which can be mental/emotional control and feeling ‘special’. The negative aspect is driven, goal orientated motivation where as the positive is rise to inspire and altruistic acts fuelled by the love of the divine. Neptune governs humour, science, mathematics, chemistry. It attempts to dissolve religious dogma and remove false masks.

The body parts ruled by Neptune include:

1. Lymphatic system – guilt
2. Sacral spine – back self and know who I am and self worth

Neptune

NEPTUNE has the positive qualities of inspiration, spontaneity, humour, healing, imagination. The negative aspects can be control, issues from guilt, mysterious diseases, misdiagnosis.

So like the ancients, watch, listen and understand what you body is saying related to astrology and plants. Look for the retrogrades, be compassionate for people affected by planetary effects and maybe whole healing is looking the Shamans and Alchemists did – the whole picture the person. Here is t you health!
